WELFARE

The purpose of student welfare programs and policies at Georges River College (GRC) Hurstville Boys’ Campus is to help students to become self directed, life long learners who can create a positive future for themselves and for the wider community.

Student welfare at GRC Hurstville Boys’ Campus incorporates effective discipline and preventive health and social skills programs to help our school meet the personal, social and learning needs of our students, by creating a safe, harmonious and caring school environment, in which students are nurtured and supported as they learn and develop into responsible young men in society.

Under the leadership of the Campus principal, our dedicated team of teachers and support staff work very hard to ensure that student welfare aims and objectives are met for all students.

If a student has a problem, e.g. finding a subject difficult, being hassled by other boys, losing a train pass, experiencing problems at home, feeling sick or upset etc., he can receive help from these people:

  • Peer Support Leader (Year 7 only)
  • member of the Administrative staff in the office
  • Head Teacher or Subject Teacher
  • School Counsellor
  • School Chaplain
  • Student Adviser for the Year
  • Head Teacher Welfare
  • Principal or Deputy Principal
