When a student is absent he must bring a note from his parent/guardian indicating home address, the date the note is written, the days absent, reason for absence and a parent/guardian signature.
In the cases where students are likely to be absent from school for prolonged periods of time due to travel or special circumstances, the parents or guardians must apply for leave in writing to the school principal in advance. The principal will then assess the application and make a decision on whether the leave will or will not be granted.
ATTENDANCE AT SPORT
If a student is unable to participate in sport because of injury or sickness they have two options. The student may either attend sport as a non playing supporter or spend the time studying in the non sport room. A note of explanation must be given to the supervising teacher at the Non-Sport room in order for this to occur.
LATE ARRIVALS AND PUNCTUALITY
Latecomers must bring a note of explanation from their parent/guardian and obtain a pass before entering the classroom. Students may be referred on to the Principal, Deputy Principal or Head Teacher Welfare.
PERMISSION TO LEAVE EARLY
A request for an early leave, other than to see a doctor or dentist, should be covered by a telephone call to the school the day before the leave is required. A parent or guardian’s signature and the date are required. A special pass will be issued to the student who must be able to produce it as proof of official permission to be out of the school. No student is to leave the school grounds at any time without permission.
