Year 10 Careers (Terms 2 and 3)
All Year 10 students are attending career seminars in small groups with Mrs Collins during weeks 4–8 of Term 2. Attendance at these seminars involves the exploration of the career interests by doing the career guidance program, Career Voyage, prior to selecting subjects to study for the HSC at Oatley Senior Campus.
Career Voyage is an online, interactive computer program that develops a student’s occupational interests profile and job factors profile (preferred working, conditions, talents, working hours etc.) Up to 40 ranked occupations are suggested on this printed report fire the student to consider. This list is then fine-tuned using the 2009 Job Guide (each Year 10 student may obtain their own copy of Job Guide from the Careers Reference Centre).
During the second part of the seminar, the subject selection process and timeline is explained. Subject Selection
