Peak Ability: A Dance Enrichment Program for Talented Primary Students  

As part of our school’s focus on identifying and strengthening the links between Primary and Secondary school settings as well as our commitment to Gifted and Talented Programs, GRC Peakhurst has established a new extra curricular dance initiative to compliment and extend programs currently existing in Primary schools in our area. 2009 is the inaugural year for the Peak Ability program.  

The program identifies talented dancers from our local Primary schools. Students who are successful in the audition process form a combined Primary Talented Dance Ensemble.  The program aims to deliver an enriched dance program and performance opportunities, whilst at the same time exposing students to experiences within a Secondary setting. Peak Ability is run by Amy Harriman and Elise Whiley.  

The program targets students in Years 4, 5 and 6 who demonstrate talent in the area of Dance. 

The Peak Ability ensemble rehearses weekly on a Tuesday afternoon between 4 and 5 pm.
