Georges River College Penshurst Girls Campus is a school with a reputation for excellence in teaching and learning and we take pride in the quality work of students in the school.  Examples of student work are in our Foyer, Hall and in our Art Galleries, corridors and gardens around the school.  Our Staff are talented, dedicated and experienced, and work hard to give students the best education inside and outside the classroom.  Staff continually update their professional knowledge and this knowledge supports excellence in student outcomes.  We are a comprehensive school.

We aim to support all students through our innovative welfare programs so that students can concentrate on their academic performance.  The school successfully enters many public competitions throughout the year, and students are encouraged to participate in all activities to develop their talents.  Debating, Band, Dance and Drama, the Ministers Young Design Award, Tournament of the Minds, Sport, and nationwide academic competitions make sure that Penshurst students have the best all round education.

As a middle school 7-10, we are keen to make education as relevant and challenging as possible, to meet the needs of our adolescent learners.  Our outstanding transition programs guarantee a clam and positive start to high school.  Students are trained as Peer Support Leaders and Peer Mediators to suppot younger students to orientate and cope with any social problems in Year 7.  The PALS program focusses on friendship groups and their transition from Year 6 to Year 7.

We have outstanding technology facilities, and technology is integrated into all learning in the school.  The school boasts six computer laboratories and a recently installed connected classroom.  We have two interactive whiteboards, but envisage one for every faculty within twelve months.  Numerous staff have undertaken extensive professional learning and are enthusiastic to embrace the new technologies to enhance teaching and learning.

A fine SRC (Student Representative Council) provides strong leadership to the school, and advises the Principal on student issues.  They organise forums, attend special events at Parliament House and are actively involved in many of the events within our whole school community.  A number of environmental projects are also supported by the SRC.

Tradition is upheld through the active work of the Penshurst Girls Union.  These women are role models and mentors for our current students and enrich our school community.

The school and community through the P & C work in partnership to plan the future direction of the school.  Georges River College Penshurst Girls Campus teaches young women to take their place alongside leaders in our multi-racial society, and to aspire to the highest levels of achievement.
