GRC Penshurst Girls Campus is very fortunate to be able to offer student scholarships. This very exciting initiative continues to strengthen the links between the school and the community it serves. In 2000, the school offered one student scholarship. This figure has now grown to 15, and we are continually seeking further sponsorship to benefit the education of our students.
Scholarships are funded by supportive community groups and private individuals and the school community is very grateful for their assistance. Scholarships are for a number of different purposes and are granted for one year.
Criteria for individual scholarships are advertised in the school newsletter and to all students. Any student may apply for a scholarship. Scholarships are generally to the value of $200. Usually scholarships are held in trust for students by the school. A panel meets to discuss applications and includes the President or representative of the P&C, the Principal and a third panel member who may be a student or staff member.
Our prestigious scholarships are very important to students who are recognised for their range of talents. Prospective career and educational opportunities are enhanced for your daughter by receiving a scholarship from the school. Sponsors and criteria vary annually.
Penshurst Girls ex-student Union offers a scholarship to a year 6 student entering the school and to a talented historian entering the school.
APPLICATIONS ARE AVAILABLE FROM THE SCHOOL IN OCTOBER.
If you or your business is able to donate a scholarship to the school,
please get in touch with the Principal, Ms Anne Ross.
We would like to double the number of scholarships
available to our students this year. Scholarships are tax deductible.
